Kratom comes from red leaves.
That’s right, each and every strain you love and enjoy is determined by the drying process the harvester uses, but it all comes from red leaves.
The drying process creates your favorite strain color of red, green, or white strain. A lot of the variations in Kratom powder has mostly to do with how the leaf is dried (whether it is dried indoors or outdoors, makes a big difference). Other variables include: how it is fermented, how much sunlight, lamp light, or UV light it had been exposed to.
More important factors to consider in this process is the location, the soil content, and whether the tree was in a rainy season that year or not.
Here’s the way it works:
- Greens are dried inside in an air conditioned room with little to no light/lamp. After this, they are dried outside for an hour or so.
- Whites are usually made by drying the leaf entirely indoors (generally no light), while reds are made either from sunlight/lamp (UV light) or fermentation.
- Yellows are usually created by blending other strains together, like a red/green mix.
- Reds are created by drying the leaf indoors in bags. This creates a fermentation process. Since 90 – 99% of all Kratom trees produce red vein leaf, not much else is needed here, unless you want to ferment or change colors. This is the starting point for other strain colors.
